The Geographical Society of Philadelphia presents on October 11, Sunday at 2 PM, Ancient Worlds, Modern Wines!
You are invited to join for an in-person OR virtual wine tasting, held in partnership with Jet Wine Bar and with our board president Dr. Jill Weber.
You have two options:
pre-order and pick up your wine to enjoy from your home, and join fellow wine enthusiasts online, live, as Jill takes us through the tasting OR,
come to the in-person, socially-distanced tasting!
We'll be tasting an amber wine from Georgia, a white wine from Turkey, and red wine from Greece:

Mtsvane Qvevri, Shumi, Kakheti Republic of Georgia (2017)
Agiorgitiko, Hercules, Nemea Greece (2016)
HERE IS HOW YOU PARTICIPATE:
To come to the in-person tasting, simply purchase a ticket and join us at Jet Wine Garden for a socially-distanced tasting.
To participate in the Virtual tasting, register at the event site, just with a free Virtual ticket to receive the information to participate.
Pre-order your wine from Jet Wine Bar. Choose either:
a. Three, 4-oz sample bottles for $25 - Geo Society Tasting Samples,
b. Three full-size bottles for $77 (with discount code, "GEO").
Pick up your wine by Saturday, October 10th from Jet Wine Bar, located at 1525 South Street in Philadelphia.
If purchasing sample-sized bottles, we recommend picking them up on Friday or Saturday to preserve freshness.
About Dr. Jill Weber:
Since 1992, Jill has worked in Syria, Turkey, Armenia, Oman, Iraq, and Italy. Along the way, she gained an intimate knowledge of these countries, their cultures, and native cuisines, which inspired her to open a restaurant back in Philly. She is now the proud founder of Sojourn Philly, consisting of restaurants Jet Wine Bar, Rex 1516, Café Ynez, and (soon!) Sor Ynez.
Jill combines her loves for travel, history, and wine in tastings that explore a wine's other "terroir", the history found underground!
